Many people have the question, what should they do if they have an issue, the symptoms of the Covid 19 Virus or if they have to self isolate.
An opportunity from this is to work from home and many companies are supporting this idea.
But what do you need for working at home? Below are some important things that you will need.
At first find an office space or create an office space for your work. Try to keep your office space and leisure space separate if possible. You could use your kitchen or dining table. Set up a desk in a corner of your spare bedroom if you haven’t a kitchen or dining table.
A Laptop or PC is one of the most important things that you need for working at home, for example your laptop from your work. If you can’t use your work laptop, try to use a home laptop. Be careful as it is not very good if you play games or a watch Netflix the whole day instead of working !
Next make sure your home Wifi or internet works well. Without internet you can do very little. The internet is important for all kinds of work. If you are a blogger, an entrepreneur, a consultant or anything else, but you will need a good and reliable internet service. Nothing is worse than not getting things finished because your internet doesn’t work or is too slow.
On the other hand a phone is also important to take phone calls with you colleagues or clients.
A good tip for working at home is to change out of your bed clothes like you would on a normal day. A suit that you wear every day in your office is maybe a little bit too much..
Your work area should be clean and tidy without all the stuff that you don’t need. A messy table is one of the worst things in an office and also for working at home.
You will also need a mouse for your laptop, memory sticks, notebooks and pens. You will also need printer paper, and access to a printer.
For a bright room you can use a lamp on your desk or sit by the window.
Many people have a normal work time for example from 9 to 5. Stick to this time and try to work every day at the same time at home and take short breaks to be focused and productive.
