Remembering 9/11

It's a normal morning of September in New York. An airliner flies at a very low altitude and attracts the eyes of many passers-by. A few seconds later the situation degenerates, with the flight crashing onto the North Twin Tower. In a matter of 20 minutes another flight crashes into the South Twin Tower. Later, the two towers collapse and envelope the area in a cloud of smoke as if an explosion happened. The collapse of the building left the site devastated. Two other planes were hijacked, one hit the Pentagon and one crashed in a filed in Pennsylvania.

It was September 11th 2001 when a group of terrorists, named Al-Qaeda, attacked America.

This was the fist time hijackers used commercial airliners to destroy symbolic targets, commit mass murder and spread terror.

A terrible attack which took the lives of almost 3000 people and continues, after 20 years, to haunt everyone's minds.

It remains the deadliest terroristic attack in US history.

The images of this tragic event are still vivid in our minds.

Even for the people who have not been directly affected by this attack, the memories will continue to return for them.

Every year it's important to remember what happened because even if the past can't be changed, the future can still be decided.

With this blog, our team at Office Supplies Ireland wanted to commemorate all the people who lost their lives, every rescuer who died in honour and the people whose lives were dramatically changed by this traumatic event.

We will never forget!
