History of Bubble Wrap

In 1957, two engineers, Marc Chavannes and Alfred Fielding, create the first Bubble Wrap, first trying to sell it as wallpaper and later marketing it as greenhouse insulation.

In 1960, Bubble Wrap goes corporate. The inventors establish the Sealed Air corporation.

In 1961, Bubble Wrap is finally used for shipping. IBM, sensing the opportunity, use the product to protect the IBM 1401 computer during shipment.

2015 was the end of popping as we know it. Sealed Air Corp. invent iBubble Wrap - bubble wrap that comes uninflated to keep shipping costs down and doesn't pop.
