Guinness Six Nations Rugby Championship

3 min read

Each Winter the Guinness Six Nations Rugby Championship takes place. It is always a big sporting occasion in Ireland and people are very excited.

The games are between Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy and England.

The Six Nations as currently organised was started in 2000. Historically the first game was in 1883 then called the Home Nations Championship between the 4 Home Nations- England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. However, with the addition of France it because the Five Nations Championship in 1910.

20 years ago it became known as the Six Nations Championship with the addition of Italy.

It starts on the first weekend of February and culminates on second or third Saturday in March each year.

Ireland had won the first and the second games this year. The first game was against Scotland. Ireland beat Scotland 19-12, it was a great start!

The second game against Wales was more difficult, but not a problem for the Boys in Green and we won this too, beating Wales 24-14.

Office Supplies Ireland wishes all the best for the game on 23rd February against the old enemy, England. It will be a great game and a perfect spot to watch it is a pub in your neighbourhood with a pint and something to eat.

We hope you enjoy it!
